The steps for creating HDR MAX images and HDR images are the same, though an image is not committed to either format until it is saved. HDR images are created in HDR MAX by simply opening one or more exposures. There is no rule of thumb to how many exposures are needed to achieve the best results. However, the higher the dynamic range of a scene, generally, the more exposures are required to capture that dynamic range.
To create a new HDR image:
- Choose File > New HDR.
- Specify the image type.
-
Select one or more images.
Note: You can only choose images that are the same dimensions for a project.
-
Click Open.
Note: There is a significant distinction between these two image file formats. For more information about the differences between HDR MAX documents and HDR documents, see the 'File Formats' section in this help document.
