HDR MAX includes full RAW image support for creating HDR images with one or more RAW images. While any image file formats can produce an HDR image with a single exposure, RAW images are better suited for this task because of their higher bit depth.
The process for working with RAW images as opposed to working with standard 8-bit images, differs only in the available RAW image-based settings are that are configurable through the 'Preferences' dialog box.
The following RAW settings can be modified through the preferences dialog.
- Color Space. Choose from Raw Color, sRGB, Adobe RGB (1998) Type, and Wide Gamut RGB.
- Generate half-size image: RAW images are generally large and can cause considerable performance costs when loading and during image processing. Check this option to decrease loading and processing time.
